Chicago-based atmospheric ensemble, VARAHA, have today unveiled details of a new single – featuring members of Napalm Death, SubRosa and Veil of Maya – which was entirely recorded during the lockdown necessitated by Covid-19. The track, titled Reves is a re-imagining of the track Severance from their 2019 album, A Passage For Lost Years. A trailer for the track – created by Chariot of Black Moth – can be viewed below, and the single will be available digitally on June 26.

Doom metal experimentalists, VILE CREATURE, have today premiered a video for the title track from their upcoming new album, Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm! The video for this two-part opus is taken from the VHS version of the album and is premiering now via Brooklyn Vegan. Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm! will be released on June 19 and is available to pre-order now.

Liverpool-based black metal trio, DAWN RAY’D, have announced a limited edition version of their latest album, Behold Sedition Plainsong to benefit Refugee Rescue charity. The red and black variant is limited to 100 copies and will be made available via Bandcamp only, this Friday, June 5; on that day, Bandcamp will waive their fees for all artists, meaning the maximum amount of money can be donated to Refugee Rescue.

Heavy alternative progressive outfit, FOUR STROKE BARON, have today released their version of The Beatles’ Mean Mr. Mustard. The track is taken from their new album, Monoqueen, which will feature six cover songs in total, plus five re-recordings from their debut self-released album, King Radio. WVRM have today premiered a new music video that is soundtracked by two blistering tracks from their recent album release, Colony Collapse. The South Carolina grindcore outfit have joined the tracks Black Flags Toward Sodom (Me Ne Frego) and Tank Reaper in an unholy double feature, which is premiering now via Decibel magazine’s website. Colony Collapse was released in April, and is available to purchase now.

Power metal ensemble, JUDICATOR, have today released the second single from their upcoming album, Let There Be Nothing. The track is titled Tomorrow’s Sun; the audio can be heard now via the YouTube link below, and the song will hit streaming services tomorrow. Prosthetic Records has signed melodic death metal outfit, FIRES IN THE DISTANCE. The Connecticut four-piece will release their debut album, titled Echoes From Deep November, via the label this September.
