SUMMONING THE LICH ANNOUNCE DEBUT ALBUM AND NEW SINGLE, ‘THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS’
Having inked a deal with Prosthetic Records and released their first single, Descend, back in October to an overwhelmingly positive reception, SUMMONING THE LICH have now announced their debut album, United In Chaos. With the album due out on February 26, the St Louis, Missouri four piece have unveiled a new single, The Nightmare Begins, which premiered this week via Decibel Magazine. VARAHA LIVE AT THALIA HALL: SAVE OUR STAGES
VARAHA are today premiering a performance of Climax & Exile live at Thalia Hall, via Metal Injection. During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, VARAHA started to campaign for the Save Our Stages cause – filming Climax & Exile at Chicago’s shuttered Thalia Hall in the process. The band and many others stand together in asking Congress to pass the Save Our Stages Act as part of the next COVID relief package to provide critical funding to help independent venues survive.

Australian death metal trio, WEREWOLVES have today released the second single from their upcoming sophomore album, What A Time To Be Alive. Antisocial blasts and grinds at a furious pace with uncompromising extreme metal gusto, taking no prisoners in the process. The three piece, featuring Dave Haley (Psycroptic, Ruins, King), Matt Wilcock, and Sam Bean (both of The Bezerker, The Antichrist Imperium), will be releasing What A Time To Be Alive on January 29, 2021 via Prosthetic Records.

Fraternal Parisian duo, WuW have today premiered a new music video via Distorted Sound Magazine, for Ce Silence Qui Nous Délivre De Tout, taken from their latest album, Rétablir L’Eternité. Filmed by Mille Plateaux Productions, the band sought influence from Jean-Teddy Filippe’s ‘Les Documents Interdits (The Forbidden Files)’, a French series of short films. Of the music video, Guillaume Colin (guitars / percussion / keyboard) comments, “The main principle is that the fantastical and supernatural elements are only suggested instead of visible. Everything lies in the ambiguity of the images”.
FIRES IN THE DISTANCE LIVE AT TELEFEUNKEN STUDIOS
Following the runaway success of their debut album, Echoes From Deep November, FIRES IN THE DISTANCE have today released a live performance of The Climb. Ushering in a line-up change with their new drummer, Jordan Rippe, the band got together in early November at Telefunken Studio, CT to film a live performance of the album in its entirety at the studio’s Soundstage. Filmed by Patrick Fallon and produced by Dave Kaminsky, the set itself perfectly captures FIRES IN THE DISTANCE’s blend of melodic death metal and doom atmospherics. The Climb is the first song from the session to be released, with the rest of the performance to be released at a later date.
WOLF KING ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM; SINGLE STREAMING NOW
WOLF KING are back with a new album, titled The Path of Wrath. The follow up to their blistering 2018 release, Loyal To The Soil, confirms the Bay Area blackened heavy metal band have lost none of their bite. The Path of Wrath is a well crafted twelve track opus, set for release via Prosthetic Records on March 5, 2021. The band have today released the album’s lead single, Sanctuary, on streaming services as well as premiering an accompanying music video via Decibel Magazine.
