Recent Prosthetic Records signees, KATAAN have today released Abyss, the second single from their upcoming self titled EP – out on May 7. The modern death metal duo is comprised of Nicholas Thornbury (formerly of Vattnet Viskar) on guitar and vocals, and Brett Boland (Astronoid) on drums and bass. Whilst small in number KATAAN‘s sound is vast in scope.

Swiss extreme metal experimentalists, SCHAMMASCH, are today premiering a visual counterpart to Innermost, Lowermost Abyss via CVLT Nation. The track is taken from the band’s latest album, 2019’s Hearts of No Light, released via Prosthetic Records.

THE EMBER, THE ASH has today released Becoming the Eidolon, the third single to be taken from their upcoming album, Fixation. Accompanying the track, THE EMBER, THE ASH has also shared a bludgeoning lyric video – continuing the album’s highly stylized visual aesthetic. Born as a solo project from a musical polymath known only as 鬼, THE EMBER, THE ASH straddles the gulf between textured metalcore and symphonic black metal – whilst offering recognisable glimpses into emotional turmoil.

Emerging out of the gloom comes Replica of a Strange Love – the new record from WRISTMEETRAZOR due for release via Prosthetic Records on June 11 – illuminating the darkest corners of their every nightmare and representing a nihilistic plunge headfirst into an intoxicating mix of death, sin and romance. The first single to be taken from the album, Last Tango In Paris, is premiering now via Revolver Magazine, with an accompanying music video. Isaac Hale of Knocked Loose made his production debut with Replica of a Strange Love, and makes a guest vocal appearance on Last Tango In Paris.

Sweden’s HORNDAL are today premiering their new single, Horndal’s Blodbad, and it’s accompanying music via Decibel Magazine. Taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Lake Drinker, Horndal’s Blodbad acts as another piece of the album’s narrative puzzle. Set in the eponymous town of Horndal, the single’s carefully crafted music video explores the town through the eyes of two Iranian refugees, siblings and dissident journalists Nina and Mitra, in compelling family pictures and stop motion images of their experience in Horndal.
