TRAP THEM have posted the first studio update on their new blog, wecraftindarkness.com. The band entered Godcity Studio with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Disfear, Black Breath) earlier this week to ebgin work on their new full length.
“Heading out for a month long odyssey with EVERY TIME I DIE and HOWL will do exactly that. Both bands are fantastic to watch in a live setting, and we look forward to having the opportunity to see them each and every night.

Atlanta’s WITHERED have announced October 26th as the street date for “Dualitas,” their third album, and second for Prosthetic Records. “Dualitas” was recorded by KYLESA’s Phillip Cope at the Jam Room in Columbia, SC like its predecessor, “Folie Circulaire.” It was announced over the weekend the band would be participating in DANZIG’s “Blackest of the Black” Fest, this fall, alongside POSSESSED, MARDUK and TOXIC HOLOCAUST.

Guitarist/vocalist Mike Thompson commented on the tour: “WITHERED is bringing our brand of extreme music and expression to a new audience this fall. The Blackest Of The Black tour is an opportunity that we just couldn’t pass up. It is also a blessing for us after learning the unfortunate news about Behemoth & Nergal. This turn of events will allow us to offer a glimpse of unique perspective to a fresh crowd as we kick off our third album release. Whether these fans are ready for us or not, we are definitely ready for them and expect to expand their horizons as well as our own on this new path.”

On Monday, TRAP THEM will convene in Salem, Mass. at Godcity Studio with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Disfear, Black Breath) to commence recording their Prosthetic Records’ debut (and third full-length album overall). This will be their first full-length to feature drummer Chris Maggio, formerly of Coliseum. The band has also launched a new blog where they will be documenting the recording process and, ultimately, the touring cycle around this as-yet-untitled album. Expect new entries, photos and videos regularly at wecraftindarkness.com

Vocalist Ryan McKenny commented; “Next week, and for the rest of September, we get knee deep in the shit. This record has been a long time coming. It’s the first, what we consider, proper LP as a full, solid band. Brian and Chris have been hard at work sweating bullets down in Louisville, loading them up in a death-punk black talon and preparing to fire at will.

“This will be our fifth visit to Godcity with Kurt Ballou, who was, naturally, the most obvious choice. We’ve always had a great relationship with him, and there is a certain chemistry between our music and his talent as a producer that puts each session at ease.

“To sum it up, there was a certain potential the members of this band felt had not yet been met. On this record, that potential has been fully realized. Get heavy, motherfuckers.”

TRAP THEM’s sound combines elements of old school Swedish death metal, punk, and d-beat and takes influence from bands such as Entombed, Black Flag, Nasum and Tragedy. The band has toured with the likes of Napalm Death, Disfear, Skeletonwitch, Victims, Rotten Sound, Toxic Holocaust and Coliseum, among others, and played the Scion Rock Fest, Maryland Deathfest and the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. The band most recently released an EP on Southern Lord Records, and has previously released two full-lengths and several 7-inches and EPs on Deathwish Inc and Trash Art.

Houston’s instru-metal quartet, SCALE THE SUMMIT will hit the road Thursday for a short run of dates on the way to an appearance at Prog-Day Festival, America’s longest running progressive festival, this weekend, in Chapel Hill, NC. The band has done a limited amount of touring since concluding a tour with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, CYNIC and DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT earlier this year, in order to concentrate on writing the follow up to 2008’s “Carving Desert Canyons,” which Metal Edge called, “Some of the most twisting, shapely prog-metal in America.”

Guitarist Chris Letchford commented, “We’re all really excited about this next mini-tour starting this week, this time to the east coast as we make our way out to Prog Day Festival. A lot of very different sounding progressive bands on the bill and it’s an honor to be able to play it this year! Its a 2 day event in Chapel Hill, NC featuring Half Past Four, Mahogany Frog, Barry Cleveland’s Hologramatron, Flash, Shadow Circus, Mars Hollow and The Muffins. We’ll be hitting the stage on Sunday, Sept 5th, second to last band, at 3pm sharp! On the way there we’ll be playing Nashville, Atlanta and Wilmington. We’ll be performing four brand new songs on this tour, so don’t miss out!”
See the band at the following dates:
9/2	Nasville, TN- The End
9/3	Atlanta, GA- The Masquerade
9/4	Wilmington, NC- The Soapbox Laundrolounge
9/5	Chapel Hill, NC- Prog-Day Festival, Storybrook Farm

SCALE THE SUMMIT formed in 2005 while attending the Musicians’ Institute in Los Angeles. Since the early 2009 release of their PROSHTETIC debut “Carving Desert Canyons,” the band has toured with some of the biggest names in progressive hard rock/metal, including Dream Theater, Zappa Plays Zappa, and Protest the Hero. In addition, they have been featured prominently in national magazines such as Guitar World and Revolver, as well as their hometown Houston Chronicle.

Floridian extreme metal act, INFERNAEON’s new album, “Genesis to Nemesis,” hits the streets today! Blabbermouth commented, “INFERNAEON has found its place in the world of extreme metal and is reveling in it.” Go to AmpMagazine.com, where the album is still streaming in its entirety, to get a dose of this maniacal album. It can still be ordered at Prosthetic’s WEB STORE or downloaded from Itunes HERE. The album, recorded with producer Brian Elliott at Mana Recording Studios (Goatwhore, Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Vocalist Brian Werner commented on the release: “This was really a true test of our will. We had a million road blocks and people standing in our way on this, and we demolished the barriers, slit the throats and pissed on the graves of all who stood in our way. Bridges were burned, feelings were hurt and I personally don’t give a fuck about anyone or anything that got destroyed in the process, as long as this album came out the way it was supposed to; because at the end of the day it’s all about the music and nothing else fucking matters!!”

Keyboardist David Stein added; “This album couldn’t have become a reality had it not been for the
collective wills of everyone in this band. It was truly an honor to work with such professionals on this project.”

INFERNAEON will be supporting the legendary GWAR on their “Bloody Tour of Horror,” this fall, starting October 2nd.

After seeing their latest album “Wormwood” debut at #67 on Billboard’s Top 200, Massachusetts’ freight train of fury, THE ACACIA STRAIN, are proud to announce their first headlining tour since the release of “Wormwood,” last month.

The “To Catch a Predatour” sees THE ACACIA STRAIN heading out along the East Coast and in Canada with support from THE RED CHORD, TERROR, GAZA, and THE CONTORTIONIST. “To Catch a Predatour” is presented by All In Merchandise, Revolver Magazine, and Metal Injection. THE ACACIA STRAIN are extremely excited to head out with some of today’s top metal and hardcore acts out in support of their newest, and already critically acclaimed fourth record on Prosthetic Records. In typical THE ACACIA STRAIN fashion, the guys plan to bring the fun each night by hanging out at their merch table thirty minutes after doors to meet the fans and socialize. There will be a special tee shirt available for purchase only during this time in addition to all their new tour merchandise. If you are in the Holyoke, MA area on the 20th of November, be sure to come out to the Waterfront Tavern as this show will be a benefit for a dear friend of the band who recently passed away due to a decade long battle with cancer.

Los Angeles’ THE FUNERAL PYRE have released a statement regarding the tragic van accident they were involved in at the beginning of August and the future of the band. EARLY GRAVES’ vocalist Makh Daniels lost his life in the accident and other members of both bands received minor injuries.

The statement from the band: “Sometimes, you go through a life altering situation. That’s how these past two weeks have been for all involved in The Funeral Pyre. But through all of that, we have managed to talk about the current situation of the band. While nobody in our group was hurt seriously, there are still some injuries that did happen. Currently, we’re all trying to just regroup and stay positive about the band and our future. Now while we all need time to just reflect on what has happened, we also had to come to a decision about what we will be doing. We will continue to tour and to write records. Although this has been a difficult time for all of us, we know that continuing to make music is something we have to do. We thank everyone who gave us their support during some of the most difficult times of our lives. We will be out on tour at the end of this year and still working harder than ever. Thank you to all of our friends and family for supporting these decisions as well. We’ll see you all soon. We’ll be out on tour again in December with dates to be announced soon. We’ll be hitting some of the spots we missed at the end of the last tour as well. Thanks again.”

Check out the footage now. The video will see the light of day in the coming weeks.

Vocalist Brian Werner commented: “”Doing this video was a fucking amazing experience we got a chance to work with a killer new company called Fetus Productions which really took our whole vision of what we were trying to do and really brought it to life. I’ve seen all the previews for this already and I have to say this video looks fucking insane. Pia Houge and Luke Leonard from Fetus Productions were some of the most amazing people to work with and I think it’s safe to say that we will definitely be working with them again in the future, and any band out there would be lucky to get the opportunity to work with them as well!”

Floridian extreme metallers INFERNAEON will be supporting the legendary GWAR on their “Bloody Tour of Horror,” this fall, starting October 2nd. The trek also features THE CASUALTIES and MOBILE DEATH CAMP and will make a stop at the 7th Annual Rock and Shock Festival in Worcester, MA on October 16th. The band will be supporting their second album, “Genesis To Nemesis,” due August 31st on Prosthetic Records. GWAR front man Oderus Urungus makes a guest vocal appearance on a cover of METALLICA’s “Creeping Death.” Pre-order for ”Genesis To Nemesis,” is available now at Prosthetic’s WEB STORE.

INFERNAEON vocalist Brian Werner commented on the tour; “”This is literally a fucking dream come true. I remember going back to being 11 and 12 years old and listening to ‘The Road Behind.’ It was always one of my all time favorite songs, so to see myself go from being a huge to fan to having the opportunity to, not only have Oderus sing on our album but, now we get to tour with them! And The Casualties are fucking sick, too. I’ve always had a shit load of respect for punks and punk rock and I love a lot of that shit. I’m proud to say I got to see bands like Fear and Exploited play live. What a lot of young metal kids today don’t realize is that, punk is basically just a mirrored version of the metal scene. It is a intoxicated, anarchistic, finger to the mainstream, counter culture based around music that corporate America doesn’t support and it was, and is, sustained through the intervention of the fans, by starting labels, zines, etc. just like metal did. So we’ve always had huge amount of respect for punks and it will be really cool to play with this diverse of a crowd every night. And our boys in Mobile Death Camp have been touring just fucking nonstop for the last six months. Now they’re going out again on this juggernaut of a tour. So yeah we’re super stocked for this; all the bands are real bands and not some mall-core breakdown bullshit and actually bring their own thing to the table until GWAR just comes on stage and just rapes and shits all over all of us opening bands”

Quoth Oderus, lord of Earth and master of the human slaves; “INFERNAEON is joining us on tour this fall and I hope they survive. If for no other reason than to destroy them as soon as they think they have made it through the hell of a GWAR tour alive. So check out their new album, especially the part with me on it. Hail GWAR!”

The dates are:

Atlanta’s blackened doom monsters, WITHERED, will be supporting Behemoth in November and December, on “The Lawless States of Heretika Tour” along with Watain and Black Anvil. The band recently completed, “Dualitas,” the follow up to 2008’s ““Folie Circulaire,” which should see a release shortly before the tour.

Guitarist/vocalist Mike Thompson commented on the tour: “We simply cannot wait to kick this tour off. This is going to be one of the best tour packages we’ve ever been a part of and easily one of the best extreme metal packages of the year. Having already toured with Watain and with Black Anvil in the past, it will be good to see everyone and share the stage with them yet again. Touring with Behemoth has always been a goal for Withered so this tour has most everything we could ask for with an unmatched quality of music. I don’t think I could have picked a better line up myself. It’s going to be one hell of an experience for everyone there. You can bet your ass I’ll be in the crowd every night.
Norway’s 1349 will bring its sonic plague back to North America in October for a co-headline tour with Triptykon, entitled, “Weltenbrand World Tour.” Chicago’s Yakuza will also appear on the bill. This will be their second trek on this side of the Atlantic in support of their album, “Demonoir,” which was released in April on Prosthetic Records in North America.
The band released the following statement: “2010 is a very special year for 1349. This is the year that saw the release of our pinnacle album ‘Demonoir,” into which we have channeled the darkest and fiercest contents of our souls and given it an aural form. As the album was released, the band was already on American soil doing the first tour of the touring cycle as main support for Cannibal Corpse. We were obviously rather excited about how the songs would feel and sound live and thus of the crowd’s reaction to the new material, but it turned out to work eminently. It felt fabulous! Furthermore, it became clear to us that we had to follow up what we had begun and go back to the States and play a headliner tour in the
fall. This intent has turned into cold reality as we now embark on a co-headliner tour with Triptykon.

“Many of you are familiar with 1349′s bonds to the creative mastermind Tom G. Warrior, and for us it’s like pieces of a puzzle that fall into place as we now go on tour with Triptykon on their first journey to the U.S. We talk about two mighty forces that here will be joined; in 1349 we see it as nothing short of a great achievement that we could make it happen. We can promise you that 1349 will feed off this great happening, and we boldly state that every show on this Weltenbrand tour will be a triumph! We look STRONGLY forward to share some truly magical moments with our American fans on this tour, and judging from the reception we got on our short-but-sweet tour with CC this spring (hails!), this is gonna be A HELL OF A RIDE.

“To complete the line-up of this legendary 1349/Triptykon-tour, we have invited the splendid weirdos Yakuza as our special guests. “Come feel the Fire”…as Overkill would have said.”

Florida’s INFERNAEON,has launched a behind the scenes video documenting the recording of their forthcoming album, “Genesis To Nemesis,” due out August 31st. Check it out now. You can check out the track “Ziasudra,” now at the band’s MYSPACE PAGE. Pre-order for the album is also available now at Prosthetic’s WEB STORE.

“Genesis To Nemesis,” was recorded with producer Brian Elliott at Mana Recording Studios (Goatwhore, Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) in St. Petersburg, Florida, and picks up where 2007’s “A Symphony of Suffering,” (which Metal Hammer described as, “brave, unflinchingly inventive and jackhammer-heavy from beginning to end,”) left off, with a devastating mix of Floridian death metal and symphonic, sinister European black metal. The album features guest appearances by GWAR’s front man, Oderus Urungus, Erik Rutan, John Zahner of Savatage (who served as keyboard engineer) and Bill Hudson and John Slaughter of Coldera. The track listing is as follows:

1. Into The N.O.X.
2. First of the Fallen
3. Lilith Ave Satanas (Bill Hudson, guest guitar solo)
4. Legacy of Kane (Erik Rutan, guest vocals)
5. Ziasudra
6. Creeping Death (Oderus Urungus, guest vocals)
7. The Scar of David
8. Immaculate Deception
9. Graven Image (John Slaughter, guest guitar solo)
10. Revelations

An extensive US tour will be announced in the next several weeks. The band has previously shared the stage with the likes of Malevolent Creation, Deicide, Atheist, Deeds of Flesh, Vile, and Impaled.

Montreal based tech-death metal band, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, have launched the track, “Black Tide,” from their upcoming five song EP “Marée Noire”, which will be released in North America on September 14th. It will be available as a limited edition red 7” record and on CD. Pre-order is now available for each format, as well as for bundles including a brand new shirt design. Check out the track and the pre-order HERE. The track listing of the EP is:

The Casket You Sleep In
Black Tide
Drill Baby Drill
Designed To Strangle
Anomic

“Marée Noire” was produced and mixed by Chris Donaldson, known for his work with Cryptopsy, and mastered by Alan Douches (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, Converge). It features artwork by Felix Rancourt, who has done work for the band before, as well as Despised Icon, Neuraxis and more.

Guitarist Chris Bradley commented on the release: “’Marée Noire’ was written using a different approach than the preceding release. We wouldn’t start the writing process from the same point. Some songs were more structured by melodies while others all started from drums pattern. I think it makes the songs stand out a little more.”
Vocalist Elliot Desgagnes added: “It’s going to be two years since our last album and we had the idea of a short release while we keep writing for the next full length. We picked five songs to go on the EP and I feel like these are by far the best songs we’ve ever written. Nothing that different from our other releases but we’re always getting a little closer to the sound we want. So we’re all satisfied with the result and are looking forward to share it.

“The tones are a little rawer and it helped a lot that Donaldson and Bradley already worked together in the past. We were all on the same page and everything went well in studio. I really like the EP format. It’s easier lyrically to make connections between the songs and follow a thought pattern. We named the EP ‘Marée Noire,’ ‘Black Tide,’ in English, because I was writing lyrics on Absurdism, self fulfilled prophecy and corporations raping everything, when BP started to shit in the Gulf of Mexico.”
BENEATH THE MASSACRE will do a Canadian tour beginning in late August and wrapping up in early October, sponsored by JagerMusic Canada. They will be playing with Neuraxis, Ion Dissonance and others along the trek.

THE ACACIA STRAIN’s new album, “Wormwood,” released last Tuesday has charted at number 67 on the US Billboard Top 200 chart, with 6,466 units sold, according to Nielson Soundscan. This is the highest debut, in both chart position and in number sold, in the band’s five album, ten year plus career. The album is also ranked at number 66 on the Top Current Albums Chart and number 8 on the Hard Rock Chart. Their previous release, 2008’s “Continent,” debuted at number 107 with approximately 5700 units sold. This also marks the second highest first week chart debut in Prosthetic Records’ history. “The Most Known Unknown,” the band’s first DVD debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Top Music Video Sales Chart back in February. THE ACACIA STRAIN is featured on the cover of the upcoming issue of “Hails & Horns.”

In an era when record sales are plummeting and bands’ careers are being measured in months, THE ACACIA STRAIN has proven they are still atop the heap of extreme music.

Front man Vincent Bennett commented; “We couldn’t be happier about the reaction ‘Wormwood’ has been getting. We didn’t know how it would go over and so far the feedback has been awesome! We appreciate the support of our fans helping us to get the word out and be a part of this record. Thanks for the support!”

THE ACACIA STRAIN is currently on “Cool Tour” along with As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Between the Buried And Me, Blessthefall, Architects, Cancer Bats and War of Ages. They are then heading to Europe in September and October on the “Hell On Earth Tour” with Terror and more.
